Heidi Klum – Roberto Cavalli – 5! That’s a very Heidi dress, plus she was the host, walked the runway, and just had a baby. She looks great.

It is sometimes hard for me to take Hillary Duff’s acting career seriously. I haven’t been able to watch Gossip Girl this season so I really have no idea what she is like. Regardless, I think her new movie “According to Greta” is shedding new light on the kind of potential she has as an actress. She was an actress first before a singer and I think in general I just like her better as an actress. This is really embarrassing, but every time she cries in a movie…I cry.
A Cinderella Story, Cadet Kelly, Raise Your Voice, that Lizzie McGuire episode where the paper boy dumped her… powerful stuff right there.

Enjoy this parody from Guillermo on Jimmy Kimmel from a scene out of the New Moon trailer. I lul’ed. It’s supposed to be dubbed for fans in Latin America, but uh, it’s still in English, so no worries there.

Why is Leighton Meester performing like…this?
Usually it’s a gradual transition from television actress to say…singer. This just looks kind of like a mess. That hair. That outfit. That jumping. guhh that stage presence. I hope her people help her out soon.

Joyce Azria, daughter of fashion mogul Max Azria has taken BCBGeneration under her wing. BCBGeneration is the sister of BCBG Max Azria. Starting today, the entire collection can be purchased online!
In my opinion the Generation line is for a younger crowd – a me type of crowd where as BCBG Max Azria is for an older crowd
I really like this line. I think it’s fresh and I would definitely wear it if I could. It’s too bad I no longer buy anything that’s not on sale UNLESS it’s an investment piece.
Here are some of my favorites:

So I’ve had John Mayer’s new album Battle Studies for almost two weeks. Right when I got it, I listened through every single song not skipping ahead and giving each its deserved attention. My first thoughts: this album is really… weak. There was nothing that blew me away. The songs were nice yeah, but where was the raw John Mayer. Everything was so soft. Too soft. Too girly? What did Jennifer Aniston DO TO YOU?! I was disappointed because we all know that John Mayer writes loves songs and such, but he has so much potential to do more.
I let the album grow on me a little bit. If I would’ve made my review post then, I would’ve bashed it and become a hypocrite. While there are some songs that make me go wtf?! on the album, there are some that I like.
There are 11 tracks. I like about 7 so far. Meaning I rate this album 7/11
Best songs:
- Assassin
- Edge of Desire
- Half of My Heart ft. Taylor Swift
- Heartbreak Warfare
- War of My Life
Tickets for John Mayer in Seattle go on sale tomorrow. I’m crossing my fingers that my brother will buy me tickets :) I have yet to see him live and I would really love to.

Gorgeous model Daul Kim was found dead in her apartment earlier this week after hanging herself. Her death had been discovered after several messages she had posted on her blog “I Like to Fork Myself” hinted at loneliness and depression. Kim, was only 20 years old and just recently walked the runway at about ten shows this past Spring 2010 Fashion Week. Kim was raised in both Seoul, Korea and Singapore.
“South Korea, which has the highest suicide rate among the 30 nations in the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, has had a string of high-profile suicides in recent months.”
This post makes me sad :(

I love listening to this song and I especially needed it with the difficult week I’ve been happening. Maybe it will do wonders for you too :)

It’s been a long time since I’ve gone to a show. It’s been a long time since I’ve attended a show that wasn’t for someone I knew. And it’s definitely been a long time since I’ve been to a show after deciding to go just a couple hours before.
Last Tuesday, when we didn’t have school the next day I found out last minute that Cartel was playing a show w/ This Providence at El Corazon. I had been planning on staying in that night catching up on reading and homewerk -uh which I’m still behind in. I’ve never seen Cartel before, but they used to be one of my favorite bands and still are. I still listen to them at least once a week. This Providence is a band that I’ve seen many times before at my local teen centers with me front row every time. I had been waiting for a chance like this for a long time, to just feel the way that I’ve felt before when going to a show.
Fifteen-year old Katie would have been just as pumped to see these two bands. In fact, there were a lot of 15-17 year olds there at that show. They haven’t changed all that much. Kristina and I watched as they went crazy for The Dares, The Summer Set, and This Providence. When it came down to Cartel though, there was a much older crowd. It was my kind of crowd because we had grown up with them. I saw the younger crowd as obnoxious, very pushy, always wanting to get to the front by grabbing their friends into a chain and dragging them through. This is probably the worst thing you can do. And I kept asking myself, why are there so many kids here? It wasn’t until after the show was over and I had realized how excited I was to be dancing at shows again that it started to make sense. I used to wonder why as I got older the Seattle music scene was dying. I used to try and put together the best lineup at shows when planning to try and get the most people to come. This was a show that they came to. It’s evidence to me that it’s not dying, that there are kids that were like me then who still care about music and who will give the okay to their parents to come along to the show as long as they are in the back and the kids can do their thing. They have that same passion that I still have towards music, local or not.
And by the way, seeing Cartel was the most amazing thing I’ve seen in a long time. They have had a great run and are still continuing to do such great things. It’s nice to see a band not totally conform. This Providence, it’s not too late to go back to the roots.

Visqueen is coming to Seattle University!
Get excited. This local Seattle band is about to blow up. I cannot wait to see them perform live tomorrow at the hearth – 8PM. Their lead singer Rachel Flotard recently did an interview on KSUB – Seattle University’s radio station and I am pumped. She seems like such an amazing woman who is so sure of herself and lives a truly inspiring life.
She recently was featured in Minus the Bear’s new song “Into The Mirror,” which I posted about… last month. Now she’ll actually be here. Just to jog your memory:
SEAC presents Visqueen tomorrow night at 8 PM in the hearth of the student center.
Opening Act: Chris Ballew from the Presidents of the USA is doing a solo act to open for Visqueen. He will be playing tracks from Presidents of the USA as well as his side project Caspar Babypants.
We will be having a raffle for a free show at Neumos and a $50 gift card to the Showbox.
