The adult-film world is such a controversial topic. What do we really know about it? What do we know about these “stars?” and their lives? Absolutely nothing. Well we only know what we may perceive about it all. Why is the industry looked down upon when sexuality is such a normal way of living?
I think everyone in the business is constantly judged but only because it’s just so taboo. I feel like even right now as I write this people are going to read this post and assume things about me even. How does this girl go from talking about her life and fashion and music to porn the next?
This week’s issue of Rolling Stone features 21 year-old porn star Sasha Grey.

Having sex on film may be her occupation but it isn’t her life. According to Rolling Stone writer Vanessa Grigoriadis says, Sasha is an ambitious young woman who aspires to be an actress as well as following in the footsteps of “controversial French author/director Catherine Breillat, who elevated conventional pornography into something more artistic and sumptuous.”
““To me, what’s most important about her is her impact on feminism,” Grigoriadis says. “Porn has been one of feminism’s most divisive issues because it hits on such a raw level to so many woman. Here are the fantasies of men, and it’s of course better to live out those fantasies through pornography than to try to do them in the real world, but the fact is the real world is impacted by it. Grey says, ‘If you look at me and you think “Here’s a woman who’s intelligent, cognizant and making her own choices, and you still tell me that what I’m doing is wrong, screw you, because that should end the debate.’ ”
Grey will be making her debut in Soderbergh’s The Girlfriend Experience on the big screen this summer where she is playing a call girl who balances a double life. I saw the trailer for this last week actually and I think it looks quite interesting.

So last night I was in the lobby doing my phil. reading when I wanted to make a bistro stop but w/ just my tshirt on and swine flu going around (necessary precautions) I needed Jordan’s sweatshirt. After I put it on I was like, “Who am I?”
Only one name came to mind.
Joey Butler.
Then we added Marcus’s hat and the look was finished. I’ve never looked so good.

In this recession, it seems like high end stores and boutiques are suffering while on the other hands chain stores such as H&M, Forever 21 and Target have sky rocketing sales.
Why is this?
I think it’s because people are starting to realize that they are paying way more for an item of clothing that they could find elsewhere cheaper. Certain prints that we see on the runway are being imitated and put into stores. It’s kind of like copying but I’d rather be paying $20 then $200. In an effort for designers to still make a profit, they look towards smaller chain stores for collaboration opportunities. Designer Matthew Williamson just released his line w/ H&M, Lauren Conrad now has plans to open a line w/ Kohls and now Tracey Feith is designing for Target!
Matthew Williamson’s collection is in 200 H&M stores now
and Tracey Feith’s line will be in Target stores until June 20th

The movie will begin shooting this September for a May 28 2010 release.
Is it bad that I haven’t seen the first one yet? I will this weekend!

Selena Gomez
or

Victoria Justice!
Personally, I’d like Selena to get back together w/ Nick Jonas. I adore her but I love Victoria’s style. She was such an underrated television star but I think she looks better w/ Taylor.
hahah I can’t believe I’m making a post about this. I’m losing cred by the second.

The news has been telling me lately that if you don’t have to go to Mexico, then you probably shouldn’t… I bet these two decided to honeymoon here JUST so they could cause controversy by wearing these not-so-fashionable masks.

For the fail.

While we’re on the subject of conventions…
This actually reminds me of Carls and Corbs.
Since it began in 2007, the Vader Project features 100 of the best underground artists and designers who come together for this one event to show everyone their idea of what Darth Vader should look like. Each helmet is customized with it’s own unique taste. Not only are they on display at various Star Wars conventions around the world, but they are now hitting museums, the first being at the Warhol in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
