What’s your favorite love song?

I’m writing my philosophy essay on love right now. Just to get myself in the mood I refined my iTunes library to only songs with “love” in the title. :) Best hardest paper I’ve ever written?

Song of the Day:

Estelle ft. John Legend – You Are

sorry! all I could find was this live version.

New Header:

Because it’s November tomorrow!

Have a Happy Halloween!

Seattle U students:

Halloween isn’t really Halloween without treating yourself to a stroll at our FIRST-EVER haunted house put on by two of my favorite SEAC members Mr. Max Stowell and Miss Veronica Lim. These two have been working very very hard on it, but everything is really a surprise. I’m in it and I don’t even know what’s going on!

We understand it’s a Friday and that it’s Halloween weekend, but you can start your party off right with the haunted house in the Bellarmine basement from 8 PM- 9:30 PM. It doesn’t cost anything, just bring yourself and be ready for surprises.

Edward Cullen on ya crotch

I’m all about new products usually. This one… can’t seem to wrap my head around it. Why you would want to have Edward Cullen down there? I don’t know. So I have a few questions, maybe these might be a bit inapropro, I don’t know.

Are these for women AND for men?

What do vampires drink again? What is Edward Cullen again?

Why would anyone ever want to have someone else’s face on their crotch?

I’d like you to think about how embarassed you may feel after someone catches you in a pair of these. There’s no going back after that.

Song(s) of the Day/Copeland Breaks Up

Today one of my favorite bands broke up. Sad day. I’ve been listening to Copeland since I was about 15 maybe 14 and I’ve followed them throughout their career, but was never able to catch them live. They have put out some amazing records and its sad to see them part. Below is a list of my favorite songs from them and these are the songs of the day:

  • Control Freak
  • Love Affair
  • No One Really Wins
  • You Love to Sing
  • Where’s My Head
  • I’m Safer in an Airplane
  • Eat, Sleep, Repeat
  • Sleep
  • You Have My Attention
  • Take Care
  • Coffee

What is love?

I think I’ve questioned love for a very long time. I grew up knowing the Disney way, the reality way relating back to people in my life, and from a standpoint of just observation.

My philosophy midterm paper due Monday is challenging me to actually give some kind of a definition for it. The prompt that I made up is as follows:

Diotima and Socrates have different views and accounts of love. What elements of their definitions still exist today and what has changed? Messages about love portrayed in movies evoke strong emotions to their audiences. Throughout the stages of our lives (childhood, adolescense, and adulthood) we develop our own ideas. Do these match up to what love is “supposed” to be?

The three movies I’m using:

Little Manhattan

Eleanor Seabird – Belgium

I discovered a new singer today. She’s absolutely wonderful and I think I love her voice? This song has been on repeat all day. Her name is Eleanor and she hails from the UK, maybe someday we can bring her to the states. Can ya dig it?

Check out her MySpace here

A Collection Part 8

Pictures kind of speak to me, do they speak to you too? These are probably my favorite posts. I feel like every collection serves a different purpose and defines exactly what I’m feeling at that moment. Can anyone guess the theme of this one? I’ve been working on this post on and off all day and I think I’ve finally come to the realization that I love these pictures not just because of the way they make me feel inspired, but because these are things that don’t happen in life sometimes. Either that or no one catches it. I kind of want to do a photo series in which I can document THESE things.

Bento for Kidlet

My grandparents used to  make me lunch and every single day. I would ask for a can of soup for lunch rotating between chicken noodle soup, chicken and stars, mega noodle, tomato, and vegetable beef. When I graduated to junior high my dad would stick a granola bar and a turkey and mayo sandwich into a brown bag.

At that point, I decided I wanted a meal plan.  Then today, I saw something that I’ve never seen before which made me think  that maybe I was a little deprived as a child.

Jenn is a 26-year old mother who blogs and takes pictures of the lunches that she makes for her son every day for school. These aren’t normal brown paper bag lunches, they’re bento boxes and they’re actually really cool.

^^ Yeah, I don’t know about that one

Remembering Shiloh Pepin

It is saddening to hear that Shiloh passed away this weekend. I had heard that she had a documentary on the Discovery Channel which is what I think the video above is from. What an amazing and courageous girl. At ten years old, she still had such hope and it is truly inspiring. She’s the prettiest mermaid girl I’ve ever seen :)
