I tried to read Twilight last year. I really did. Kayla let me borrow her book and everything, but I just couldn’t get into it. I didn’t even enjoy the movie and usually that will work on me.
Today, I discovered Alex Day. He might be onto something here…
Whether you enjoy Twilight or not, I think his commentaries of chapter 3 and 4 are pretty accurate. ENJOY!
And for Chapter 2

Elliott Bay Book Company will be moving from Pioneer Square to a new location on Capitol Hill.
What exactly does this mean?
The bookstore is scheduled to open around mid-march on “1521 10th Avenue, right next to Oddfellow’s Hall between Pike and Pine.”
It will be about 19,000 square feet and an amazing additon to the Capitol Hill neighborhood. The new location will also feature more parking spaces below the street level and near the store and have a cafe built in! No word yet on if they will be selling used books as well as new books.
For more details, read here for a letter from Peter Aaron, the owner of the Elliott Bay Book Company.

There is such an unexplainable sense of comfort when I am at home. The final paper has been written and turned in and I feel such a lift off my shoulders now that this quarter has come and gone. The last time I was home for Thanksgiving break, approximately a week and a half ago, I was not able to accomplish all of the things that I had wanted to. So let’s try that list again:
- visiting my Grandma Ruby and purchasing her pretty jewelry for Christmas!
- developing a certain roll of film from two summers ago
- applying to large list of internships for Summer 2010
- starting and finishing a book
- an absolutely necessary visit to Pizza Bank
- eating
- snagging music
- writing up interviews for the Yow Yow!
and overall enjoy my break away from school :) Expect lots of posts this week, I’ve got a list that has been building up from finals week.

There has been an Edward Cullen sighting!
I kid you not. THE Edward Cullen has a twin and he is a student at Seattle University. Pale skin. Thin lips. That weird hair. The pout. It’s all there, all signs point to positive.
Last night, at around 8:35 PM, I sat in the hearth for the SEAC Coffeehouse event watching the band Judgement Day perform when BAM! I get this weird feeling inside… like I’m seeing sparkles. I turn to my right and I see the Edward Cullen walking up the stairs.
However, this is not the first sighting. I have seen him around. Same description as before and he is never with anyone else, which makes me wonder…is his pseudo family around?
If I can snag a picture or maybe an interview, I will!

When a girl finds herself twirling her hair, she may be doing this out of anxiety, tension, or nervousness according to photographer Jeff Powerhouse. Powerhouse has been photographing women for seven years capturing them on the streets as they twirl a strand of hair. He has compiled this collection into his new book Twirl / Run. The book also features people running. It has nothing to do with twirling.

Seattle produces good food. Can we all agree on this? I always enjoy eating out in Seattle. Though I’ve never eaten at one of Tom Douglas’s infamous restaurants, I know that he is one of the most amazing chefs in this city. He is the owner of Serious Pie, Lola, Etta’s, and the Dahlia Lounge, but he’s not stopping just yet. Tom Douglas will be opening a new restaurant located right next door to Etta’s near Pike Place Market. This will not be an extension off of Etta’s, it will b e a new restaurant completely.

I miss reading. I find it hard to read books for my classes these days and I don’t know if it’s because I’m skimming it or reading too fast that I’m not retaining it, but it’s becoming a little bit of a problem.
I want to start reading regularly again.
On my to-do-list
- The Tipping Point
- Blink
- Kite Runner

I’m all about new products usually. This one… can’t seem to wrap my head around it. Why you would want to have Edward Cullen down there? I don’t know. So I have a few questions, maybe these might be a bit inapropro, I don’t know.
Are these for women AND for men?
What do vampires drink again? What is Edward Cullen again?
Why would anyone ever want to have someone else’s face on their crotch?
I’d like you to think about how embarassed you may feel after someone catches you in a pair of these. There’s no going back after that.

Precious, a story based on the novel Push by Sapphire, is about a young girl still in high school who is pregnant with her second child from her own father and also suffers from constant physical and verbal abuse from her mother. It has received a great deal of attention and talk from many film festivals and you can expect some celebrity appearances by Mo’Nique, Mariah Carey, and Lenny Kravitz.
And then we fall in love w/ Joseph Gordon-Levitt all over again! Even after watching that trailer, I still have no idea what the movie is about.

Unleash your inner Nancy Drew/Hardy Boy

Here’s a website that will teach you precise step-by-step instructions on how to make one of these. Store your… guilt candy, extra money, or…things that I don’t want to mention on my blog in here. You can use it for whatever! If you actually read the direction, you’ll find that they are really quite amusing.

When I’m at school I never get the chance to watch movies. The theater is within walking distance, but not only am I a poor poor college student, I mostly just don’t have the time or would rather do something else with my time. However, I went to a few movies this summer and saw many many new trailers for movies set to be released this season
